The Challenge

So, I told Allan (I'll post his link when/if he gets one) that I was going to do this project and showed him a few examples.

He got pretty excited and said, "That sounds good!"

I said" What are you talking about?"

"Well, I'll challenge you."

So, we decided to make a little competition out of this. Of course, there are no real judges other than ourselves and I see it more as having a workout buddy that you can challenge yourself against. So, once he decides on his figure, whatever and whenever that may be, kombat will begin.

Introduction

I am starting this blog to document my 365 Days of Wall-E Project. For those who don't know, a 365 Project is a way for a photographer to improve their abilities by taking and posting at least one photo a day for a complete year. There are several variations of this, including a 52 Week Project and a 12 Month Project.

On top of the posting frequency variations, some people also include a theme or requirement to their project to improve in certain areas where they may be lacking. This includes using a specific lens for all of their photos or a certain technique, like off-camera flash or only portraits.

For my specific project, in case you haven't figured out yet, I decided to use Wall-E as my theme. I was inspired to do this by a 365 Project I found where a high school girl used a Dan Board figure (check her out here). I love the Dan Board and spent a lot of time trying to find a figure that I though was as perfect but since those thing cost over $50 each on eBay and you can't even buy them in the states, I chose what I thought was the next best thing, Wall-E. I've seen several others use Wall-E for their projects as well. He is fairly articulated, has great eye expressions and is about 6 inches tall and I found two different versions that will allow me to do a lot, I hope.

This is going to be one of my most arduous experiences and I hope you enjoy it.
